|04:47 pm - Don't you ever grow up, Little Toot|
Anyone who wishes to congratulate me on reaching my personal goal of reading 50 books I've never read before and that aren't romance novels is cordially invited to do so at this time.
I think I started the second week of January, but them holidays is good reason, so you've got a good shot. 8-)
On the other hand, lets not even talk about how I did for 50recipechallenge. I'm thinking I might have hit 4.

I am now inclined to do the same.. time to visit the Bloomington public library. Thanks for the inspiration :)
Thanks. I have more stringent rules than the requirements which are simply to read 50 books within a year. If you want to follow the group, get recommendations, accrue braggign rights, the people's ovation, and fame forever, check out 50bookchallenge

Would that be in a year? (I wouldn't have pegged you for a romance novel devotee - I would have expected more of a sci-fi/fantasy bent...)

Yup. Within a year. I'm not exactly fussy about genre. I tend to dislike most sobby dramatic stories, I love action/adventure, romance, mystery. I made an conscience effort to not count romance novels because many of the ones I like are quite short, and I don't consider them a real broadening experience. I wanted 50bc to encourage me to seek out books I hadn't read and might not have read in the normal course of business.
Oddly enough, the first book I read this year was one your parents sent me and it was humour. 8-)

Congrats! Do you have a list somewhere of the books you read?
Why yes, yes I do. 8-) I'm using the livejournal memories feature to track all of my book posts. You can see them here: 50 book challenge memories
. Soon I shall create a new memory keyword for 50bc05!
I also have a memory keyword set for book recommendations, if you're looking for ideas of something you want to read.
And some darned fine stuff back atcha. Well done!
Thanks and congratulations again.
