So continuing the sage of the micromanager, but skipping ahead three emails, we ended up at a proposal where I work with the UI designer, and Mr. Lonely Heart to develop a design protoype. So I went to MLH to ask how he wanted to handle it.
He looked me dead in the eye and said (and I'm not making this up). "I trust you. Do what you need to."
And I said, brilliantly, "what?"
And he said, "We discussed this all last week. I told you then to do what you needed. Keep it simple and make it look like the product. You can handle it. Maybe discuss it with...[ui designer] to make sure it's something we like if we're managing long term, but you don't need me."
