Fairytale Princess Amy

How they do business way out in 508...

I mentioned in an earlier post that I ordered more of my shampoo. I'd now like to reproduce the conversation we had, now that shock has worn off.
Her: You said you wanted Monday hours, but here I didn't get back to you until today. I'm sorry about that.
Me: I actually wanted Sunday hours. It's hard for me to get there during a week.
Her: Well, Sunday, we're usually sleeping.
Me: Hrm.
Her: Where do you live?
Me: Bedford.
Her: Is that near New Bedford?
Me: *chuckling* No. I'm up near New Hampshire on Route 3.
Her: Oh dear. (not that New Bedford is that much closer.) Well, how about I mail them.
Me: That would be fine. I'd like two shampoos and one conditioner.
Her: That's 24$ plus postage.
Me: How much is that.
Her: I don't know. You'll see when you get the package.
Me: But, I don't know how much it is.
Her: When you get the package, just mail me a check for 24$ plus the postage on the package. It's nice because you don't have to worry about me overcharging you for postage.
Me: Yeah, okay. Sure.

When was the last time that happened? I sent her the check today. Now admittedly, I called her for a specialty item, I knew exactly what I wanted and chances are good I'd buy from her again, because, well, it's a specialty item, and so it's in my best interest to pay in a timely way, but still. I'm so used to being automatically distrusted, I don't even notice it, and the time someone does trust me, just freaks me out.

Signs...

On the same day I hear the announcement that the Red Sox are switching radio affiliates, I find out what radio station plays the Lowell Spinners games.
Coincidence? I think not.
