11:52 am - Pardon me, while I kill myself
IcksaCollapse )

I think I'm going to beat the next person to tell me that if I don't vote, I don't have the right to complain. It's beyond cliché at this point. The point of free elections is that regardless of whether you vote or not, you have the right complain. I vote for people who I believe with protect and preserve the right of people to complain. (This is one of the things that bothered me so much about the republicans under Bush, they seem to want to chop out the right of the complainers or paint them as "unAmerican" when everyone knows that Americans love to complain and organize and it's just what we do.)

Personally, I love to vote. I may be undereducated, but I love that little lift that comes from pretending I have a share in the democratic process (until I see the results and realize that my vote may absolutely no difference in the grand scheme of things).

Anyway, Hoppie and I voted this morning at 8.

And speaking of Hoppie, he was flying in my dream last night. I want to talk about that. But not now
