Ugh. MLB email from the Red Sox requesting us to stuff the ballot box for Johnny Damon and call our friends to do the same. Tacky. Tacky.

What do you expect from the Red Sox? Nothing non-tacky, I hope.

I blame the corrupting influence of MLB on my pure and pristine sport.

At least MLB acknowledges the ballot box stuffing. The whole idea of "all star" is so fake anyways. It's not for all stars, it's for the most popular players. True all stars would recognize the excellent players, regardless of how well known they were.

Case in point (and my favourite rant): Cal Ripken Jr made the All Star team for years, long after he was no long an able shortstop. But he made it for just being him.
