|11:38 am - Who's that girl?|
I am clearly unprepared for this California living. My cousins have a house directly on the bay. You can see the Golden Gate bridge off to the distance. You can walk down and swim in the bay (were you inclined to freeze your butt off). They have walk out porches on both levels of the house that allows you to look out on all sides of the house.
This morning as I was lounging in my nightclothing on couch in the family room, the gardner waved at me cheerily from the inner courtyard.
You have been warned, I may never come home. If only I could sponge indefinitely off my cousins. My cousins have unerring taste anyway, so to combine that will a beautiful house really makes it. Even the shower was heavenly.
Well, anyway, we're here and I should start contacting people and setting up things. But this lovely house makes me want to lounge and read.
I took breakfast on the upper deck, overlooking the bay in a lounger with a footrest, reading the newspaper.
I don't really feel stressed much now. Odd that.
Oh, the trip? It was fine.
Hoppie was wicked loving the afternoon flight. He didn't feel rushed, hurried, or disoriented like he does when we catch the early birds. Nearly no traffic to Manchester, although we were rushed enough that we couldn't stop for brunch at La Carretta, like we considered doing.
The flights had switched (travelocity had warned me, but when I was looking for changes in time and didn't really see any, I should have been looking for changes in airlines!) so we were flying United instead of USAir. The short flight to Dulles was short. Then we had some lunch on the ground, and got on the long flight to San Jose. It was long. And boring. And long. The movie was surprisingly not too bad. Both hoppie and I got sucked in. It was The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. We got in a half hour early, and I had a wicked miserable headache, but we eventually got some sleep and I'm feeling much better now.
I notice my cousin has Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince nearby, which reminds me...:
Where are the wires on your headphones
Wireless, baby. Learn it, Love it.
Ew. No headphones. Ick.
If you don't use headphones, or are just being contrary, you can talk about what you use here.
Do you like the positioning of your headphones wires?
You say that like there are options.
What side do you wear/carry your portable music player on when in use.
I don't have one.
I don't use it. I just carry it around so I look cool.
And now the money question, and this is for statistical purposes, so be honest, Are you:
Ambidextrous, favoring left.
Ambidextrous, favoring right.
Actually Ambidextrous, and you really do use whatever hand is free for whatever needs doing at the time.
Okay, I can't wait to see what you guys come up with here.
And the burning question that reminded me of this: My cousin's Harry Potter, do I?
Steal it to read my weekend chapter.
Finish it, because as MacroMan says, it's not good enough to savor.
Look through it, because it's the American edition, and it's got those cool prechapter doodles.
And finally, what do you do with a drunken text box? Whatever you want.
And from sunny California, that is all.
Current Mood: relaxed
glad to hear you're having fun in California! But just remember, they have earthquakes there. If that's not enough reason to avoid living there, I don't know what is.
I definitely wouldn't live here, but it's a great place to visit.
Ummmm...cuz earthquakes are better than hurricanes? I find them kind of fun in an odd, possibly slightly perverse sort of way.
Cold bay water. You couldn't keep me away. But then, you know I'm a little crazy that way. Okay, I'm just a little crazy period.
Thanks! See you tonight!
