Looks like the Sox are about to sign Julian Tavarez. Have I mentioned how much I loathe Julian Tavarez. I'm finding myself hoping that the young and sexy BlueJays take the east this year, or maybe with all the talent Baltimore is signing they might make a run for it. Except that they just signed Kevin Millar, so really, how good can they possibly be?

Stop it. You're making me long for our baseball preview shows, which will take place sometime mid-late February.

We're going to have one columnist or TV talent preview each division on separate shows.

Of course, after that, baseball season fires up, and I may have to find guest hosts for Ed on occasion.

I long for them too, but February isn't too long to wait.

Are you trying to say that the Red Sox have jumped the shark?

No. You know the rules. No free babysitting during Sox games!

What's wrong with Tavarez?

Don't worry about the Sox, they'll be fine. While our offense is significantly different this year, our pitching is much improved in the rotation and the bullpen. Also, don't expect nothing from Foulke and Schilling like we got last year. If they can perform, we should be stellar, if not undefeated.

He has anger-management issues. He's not exactly real good at dealing with fans or pressure. I think he's going to find Boston a very difficult town to play in.

Well, he has good stats, so I'm hoping for the best. Maybe we need to get Tony LaRussa on WEEI and have him tell the Boston fans not to boo him.

Anyway, fans should calm down, we'll be fine! Worst case scenerio: We don't trade Manny and he doesn't play. If that happens...

See? Not that bad. Also, don't forget about Ellsberry in the minor leagues as a possibility for Center Field. Also, our rotation is awesome...Beckett/Schilling/Papelbon/Lester/Wakefield, and Arroyo in the bullpen. We're gonna be a good team, I'm not worried at all.

I like Julian Tavarez! He used to be a Cleveland Indian and I followed him then. He's a pretty talented pitcher.

I'm not questioning his talent.
