|01:26 pm - Tired of feeling sorry for myself...|
So I will do what neffie does when she's tired of feeling sorry for herself. I will talk about her kids.
I had dinner with Simon Monday night and he said, and I quote: "I like science, and I don't like being sucked into a black hole."
I was extremely sympathetic about the black hole part.
He was blowing bubbles in his rootbeer and then poking them with a straw instructing them, "Die! Die! Die!"
This morning on my way to
school work, I stopped to let a small boy, his dog, and his dad cross the road. The boy waved. I was utterly charmed. I'm such a sucker.
Work has been dreadful all day.
But Masako gave me rum raisin chocolates. So, you know, there's that.
Current Mood: gloomy
heh..he's so odd :) jtn's taught him alot about space and the planets and stars..molly too..they were arguing last week 'cause simon said the moon was made of green cheese and molly says it's made of ROCKS and DIRT. It was funny. :) He loves making her mad...
He's just oodles of cute. I'm sorry Molly wasn't able to come though. Still, it was nice to have Simon to myself. It's depressing to think he probably doesn't remember any of my previous visits and won't remember this one either. Oh well. At least I can treasure it.
oh no, he remembers you..I talk about you and hoppie alot..helps him remember. :) Simon needs some personal attention he's just so overshadowed by the huge personality that is Molly. So I'm kind of glad they've been separated. He's just such a sweet kid and he's so confused by ppl and social interaction it breaks my heart. some ppl like to blame it on the fact that he doesn't get socialised enough but I didn't know anyone when I was little and I'm not..hrm. well at any rate..he's learning and that's a good thing.. :)
He's a smart, thoughtful kid and that always contributes a degree of isolation. He probably realizes that a lot of people don't understand him or have trouble keeping up with his train of thought, so he shares less and feels more alienated.
It will get better as he gets older, I imagine. Although knowing you're raising the next generation of hoppieesque brilliant geeks is probably not much comfort to you.

You had dinner with Simon? Was anyone else there you hadn't seen in like forever?
Yes! There was! I forgot to mention Big Dave!
Yes, it was good to see you too, Jason, but you're not quite as cute as Simon. Sometimes you're as amusing.

Apparently Delia and I aren't worth mentioning :(

That was me, obviously. New desktop computer at work, forgot to have it save my LJ creds.
Really it's about context. The point was to tell Simon stories to feel better about life. If Neffie told Delia/Chip stories to feel better, maybe I would too!

Hmmmmmmm. Okay, I forgive you.
