Vicky had the baby at 2:56 AM (gleep). Baby is 9 pounds someodd. (I was tired when they told me. I can't remember details.)

Mom and baby are fine.

Edit: Mom and Baby are still fine, AFAIK. Father is a wee bit frazzled. Baby has a name, Alan Joseph.

And I was probably a blithering idiot when I told you. 9 lbs 5 oz. No drugs, intact perineum. She was induced with pitocin and had magnesium sulfate to control her high BP. Mag has a way of slowing labor and making one feel horribly weak, hot, nauseated, and a host of other nasty side effects. But she did it! She was tickled pink when it was all over and saying how powerful she felt!

that's an impressively-sized baby over an intact perineum!

Congrats to Vicky and her hubby.

Can I tell you how much of a start that subject line gave me? I didn't see the user ID until after my brain had already gone through the phases of "J had her baby and no one CALLED ME?!"

Too many babies lately. =)

Congrats to your friend and the frazzled father - that's a whopper of a son.
