While acknowledging that we can't judge books by their covers, how much does the design of a book affect your reading enjoyment? Hardcover vs.softcover? Trade paperback vs. mass market paperback? Font?Illustrations? Etc.?
There's a whole number of years in which I don't read particular Harlequin romance series' because I don't like the cover design. I'm not proud of that. It took me awhile to notice, in fact. I don't know if it's related the idea that all the books I read with that cover sucked and therefore I've decided to write off all books in that series in that period, or I just don't like and, with the element of choice afforded to me by the fact that Harlequin has published ALOT of books, I don't have to read those.
Adam Jones. I know people are waiting for me to weigh in as with all things Patriots. I've said I didn't want him on the Patriots, now, having said that, let me say this. I think the Cowboys are a good fit. There are two go-to rehabilitation teams right now:
The Patriots: Corey Dillon, Randy Moss - poster children
The Cowboys: Terry Glenn, Terrell Owens - poster children
Now you can make the claim that Terrell Owens hasn't reformed, but remember most of his problems were evenly split between on-field and off-field. He may still run his mouth a bit more than most teams like, but his teammates don't seem to hate him anymore and he's not lolligagging around the infield, lolligagging around the bases or lolligagging in or out of the dugout. He's not the same guy.
And Terry Glenn, who, after being suspended X number of games for a failed drug test rode the Patriots bench until they could free themselves from his is now a poster child for good behaviour. Way to go, Dallas.
Do I think Jones can be successful with whatever the Cowboys are doing? Yes I do. So I'm hoping this deal happens. I think it might be Jones' best hope for a successful NFL career.
