You must understand

I think it’s kind of harsh to bash those who voice concerns about lain_mac and her current life change. I mean for 1) you are sharing this with us (not like I asked 'anyone you know adopting polish children?') and 2) its happened on more than one occasion that people make decisions with the best intentions and then before they know it, they have been sucked into to a place that they can't escape. I don't think anyone questions the fact that lain_mac has really, really, really thought this through until her brain hurt but its one of those decisions that may be reviewed in her mind for the rest of her life. Who knows?
Just don't be mad at the little people. They mean you/her no harm.

I know, it just bothers me that it's the wrong question. It's okay to ask, "Are they sure." it's odd to ask "Well what does your husband/child think about this?" Like what is she going to say: They're against it, I'm doing it anyway, and screw them? That's not really the kind of person she is.
A better question, a less irritating one, is "Does she know what she's getting into" which is the question you raise, and it's a fair one. A hard one to answer, but at least not an irritating one. But the idea that she hasn't provided full disclosure to her family or that this isn't a joint family project really does set my hackles up.
And stop calling me Sir.

Oh, and for the record, I don't force anyone, except sometimes solies to read my journal. When people ask me questions like that, they're asking me to my face, I don't exactly have a polite "opt out" option. And I was a bit more polite the first 5 times I got asked the question. Really. Just once we started edging into the realm of "I can't count how many times people have asked me that," I started to get a bit edgy.

Okay, well in retrospect, I probably forced you to read it. But...you're supposed to blindly support me in everything I do!
